Olympics

They’ve brought the worst out of quite a few people, with them finishing and the domestic football season starting.  Morons everywhere praising the Olympians (all but one specific group of them, surprise surprise) and having a go at footballers for being “overpaid prima donnas” and so unsportsmanlike, saying they have no national pride for pulling out of meaningless international friendlies.  There’s no incentive in playing these games — especially when they are three days before the domestic season starts when they’ve had practically all summer to organise them — apart from picking up an unnecessary injury.

You’re not gonna make us turn our back on the sport we grew up watching and playing and convert us into sailor or dressage supporters because your head is so far up your arse, so forget it — I have no idea how horse dancing or any other horsey event has Olympic status, for that matter.  The only way that’s gonna happen is if the entire text of the laws of the game is replaced with the contents of a tiddlywinks rulebook.

Footballers — keeping the national average salary high since 1961.

It’s ridiculous how both are compared, most events in the Olympics last 3 days max whilst the Premier League season lasts nine months and the rivalries and the passion in the latter are far more intense.  Even if footballers are supposedly overpaid, who’d turn down a comparatively measly £25000 a week for doing something you love?  I bet these self-absorbed dickheads wouldn’t either.  Being paid that much puts them in the highest tax band and no one complains about that, though some find loopholes to pay as little as 2% but what’s 2% of £25000 x 52?  That would be £26000, the same as the UK average salary in tax, and that’s only on their income.

I doubt that these holier-than-thou cretins, spouting this bullshit, cared about the Olympics a month ago.  They probably had no interest in any of the sports nor knew that some had Olympic status, they were just caught up in national hype.  They only feign interest in these stupid events because their country got a medal in them, they won’t be able to name the competitor now it’s been so long since they won, like a week ago.  I bet they had England flags on show everywhere during the Euros, showing their support for the FOOTBALL team.

Who’s he and what’s his discipline?

Their interest in the games will vanish soon, now their Union Jacks are packed away for the next big national event.  It won’t be long until the media coverage is completely dead too and the games are forgotten altogether, those lot will be back following football after eating their bitter slice of humble pie.
